The 1988 Texas Rangers finished with a record of 70-91. They scored 637 runs and belted 112 home runs to go along with a .252 batting average. The offense was powered by Ruben Sierra, who led the team with 23 home runs, 91 RBI, and 156 hits.

The team allowed 735 runs and had a team ERA of 4.07. Charlie Hough led the pitching staff with 15 wins and 174 strikeouts. Mitch Williams led the team with 18 saves.
