The 1987 Texas Rangers finished with a record of 75-87. They scored 823 runs and belted 194 home runs to go along with a .266 batting average. Larry Parrish provided the power for the team with 32 homers. Ruben Sierra was the best run producer with 109 RBI. Scott Fletcher and Ruben Sierra were tied for the team lead in hits with 169.

The team allowed 849 runs and had a team ERA of 4.63. Charlie Hough led the pitching staff with 18 wins and 223 strikeouts. Dale Mohorcic was the team's best fireman, with 16 saves.
