The 1986 Cincinnati Reds finished with a record of 86-76. They scored 732 runs and belted 144 home runs to go along with a .254 batting average. The offense was powered by Dave Parker, who led the team with 31 home runs, 116 RBI, and 174 hits. Eric Davis had a great year on the basepaths with 80 stolen bases.

The team allowed 717 runs and had a team ERA of 3.92. Bill Gullickson was the winningest pitcher, with 15 games won. Tom Browning led the team with 147 strikeouts. John Franco was the team's best fireman, with 29 saves.
