The 1985 Houston Astros finished with a record of 83-79. They scored 706 runs and belted 121 home runs to go along with a .261 batting average. Glenn Davis provided the power for the team with 20 homers. Jose Cruz was the best run producer with 79 RBI. Bill Doran led the team with 166 hits for a .287 average.

The team allowed 691 runs and had a team ERA of 3.67. Leading the team in wins was Mike Scott, with 18. Nolan Ryan struck out 209 batters to lead the team. Dave Smith was the team's best fireman, with 27 saves.
