The 1985 Detroit Tigers finished with a record of 84-77. They scored 729 runs and belted 202 home runs to go along with a .253 batting average. Darrell Evans provided the power for the team with 40 homers. Lance Parrish was the best run producer with 98 RBI. Lou Whitaker led the team with 170 hits for a .279 average.

The team allowed 688 runs and had a team ERA of 3.80. Jack Morris led the pitching staff with 16 wins and 191 strikeouts. Guillermo Hernandez was the team's best fireman, with 31 saves.
