The 1984 San Diego Padres finished with a record of 92-70. They scored 686 runs and belted 109 home runs to go along with a .259 batting average. Kevin McReynolds and Graig Nettles were tied for the team lead in home runs with 20. Steve Garvey was the best run producer with 86 RBI. Tony Gwynn led the team with 213 hits for a .351 average. Alan Wiggins had a great year on the basepaths with 70 stolen bases.

The team allowed 634 runs and had a team ERA of 3.48. Eric Show was the winningest pitcher, with 15 games won. Tim Lollar led the team with 131 strikeouts. Rich Gossage was the team's best fireman, with 25 saves.
