The 1984 Detroit Tigers finished with a record of 104-58. They scored 829 runs and belted 187 home runs to go along with a .271 batting average. The offense was powered by Lance Parrish, who led the team with 33 home runs and 98 RBI. Alan Trammell led the team with 174 hits for a .314 average.

The team allowed 643 runs and had a team ERA of 3.49. Jack Morris led the pitching staff with 19 wins and 148 strikeouts. Guillermo Hernandez was the team's best fireman, with 32 saves.
