The 1983 Texas Rangers finished with a record of 77-85. They scored 639 runs and belted 106 home runs to go along with a .255 batting average. The offense was powered by Larry Parrish, who led the team with 26 home runs and 88 RBI. George Wright led the team with 175 hits for a .276 average. Billy Sample had a great year on the basepaths with 44 stolen bases.

The team allowed 609 runs and had a team ERA of 3.31. Charlie Hough led the pitching staff with 15 wins and 152 strikeouts. Odell Jones was the team's best fireman, with 10 saves.
