The 1982 Texas Rangers finished with a record of 64-98. They scored 590 runs and belted 115 home runs to go along with a .249 batting average. Dave Hostetler provided the power for the team with 22 homers. Buddy Bell and Dave Hostetler were tied for the team lead in RBI with 67. Buddy Bell led the team with 159 hits for a .296 average.

The team allowed 749 runs and had a team ERA of 4.30. Charlie Hough led the pitching staff with 16 wins and 128 strikeouts.
