The 1981 Texas Rangers finished with a record of 57-48. They scored 452 runs and belted 49 home runs to go along with a .270 batting average. The offense was powered by Buddy Bell, who led the team with 10 home runs and 64 RBI. Al Oliver led the team with 130 hits for a .309 average.

The team allowed 389 runs and had a team ERA of 3.40. Rick Honeycutt led the team with 11 wins. Danny Darwin struck out 98 batters to lead the team.
