The 1981 St. Louis Cardinals finished with a record of 59-43. They scored 464 runs and belted 50 home runs to go along with a .265 batting average. The offense was powered by George Hendrick, who led the team with 18 home runs and 61 RBI. Keith Hernandez led the team with 115 hits for a .306 average.

The team allowed 417 runs and had a team ERA of 3.63. Leading the team in wins was Bob Forsch, with 10. Bruce Sutter led the pitching staff with 57 strikeouts and 25 saves.
