The 1979 Seattle Mariners finished with a record of 67-95. They scored 711 runs and belted 132 home runs to go along with a .269 batting average. The offense was powered by Willie Horton, who led the team with 29 home runs, 106 RBI, and 180 hits. Julio Cruz had a great year on the basepaths with 49 stolen bases.

The team allowed 820 runs and had a team ERA of 4.61. Mike Parrott led the pitching staff with 14 wins and 127 strikeouts. Byron McLaughlin led the team with 14 saves.
