The 1979 Baltimore Orioles finished with a record of 102-57. They scored 757 runs and belted 181 home runs to go along with a .261 batting average. The offense was powered by Ken Singleton, who led the team with 35 home runs and 111 RBI. Eddie Murray led the team with 179 hits for a .295 average. Al Bumbry had a great year on the basepaths with 37 stolen bases.

The team allowed 582 runs and had a team ERA of 3.28. Mike Flanagan led the pitching staff with 23 wins and 190 strikeouts. Don Stanhouse was the team's best fireman, with 21 saves.
