The 1978 Toronto Blue Jays finished with a record of 59-102. They scored 590 runs and belted 98 home runs to go along with a .250 batting average. The offense was powered by John Mayberry, who led the team with 22 home runs and 70 RBI. Bob Bailor led the team with 164 hits for a .264 average.

The team allowed 775 runs and had a team ERA of 4.54. Leading the team in wins was Jim Clancy, with 10. Tom Underwood struck out 139 batters to lead the team.
