The 1978 Los Angeles Dodgers finished with a record of 95-67. They scored 727 runs and belted 149 home runs to go along with a .264 batting average. Reggie Smith led the team in home runs with 29. The offense was powered by Steve Garvey, who led the team with 113 RBI and 202 hits. Davey Lopes had a great year on the basepaths with 45 stolen bases.

The team allowed 573 runs and had a team ERA of 3.12. Burt Hooton led the team with 19 wins. Don Sutton racked up 154 strkeouts to lead the team. Terry Forster was the team's best fireman, with 22 saves.
