The 1977 Pittsburgh Pirates finished with a record of 96-66. They scored 734 runs and belted 133 home runs to go along with a .274 batting average. The offense was powered by Bill Robinson, who led the team with 26 home runs and 104 RBI. Dave Parker led the team with 215 hits for a .338 average. Frank Taveras had a great year on the basepaths with 70 stolen bases.

The team allowed 665 runs and had a team ERA of 3.61. John Candelaria was the winningest pitcher, with 20 games won. Rich Gossage led the pitching staff with 151 strikeouts and 26 saves.
