The 1974 St. Louis Cardinals finished with a record of 86-75. They scored 677 runs and belted 83 home runs to go along with a .265 batting average. Reggie Smith led the team in home runs with 23. Ted Simmons knocked in 103 runs. Lou Brock led the team with 194 hits for a .306 average. Lou Brock had a great year on the basepaths with 118 stolen bases.

The team allowed 643 runs and had a team ERA of 3.49. Lynn McGlothen led the pitching staff with 16 wins and 142 strikeouts.
