The 1971 Minnesota Twins finished with a record of 74-86. They scored 654 runs and belted 116 home runs to go along with a .260 batting average. The offense was powered by Harmon Killebrew, who led the team with 28 home runs and 119 RBI. Cesar Tovar led the team with 204 hits for a .311 average.

The team allowed 670 runs and had a team ERA of 3.82. Jim Perry led the team with 17 wins. Bert Blyleven racked up 224 strkeouts to lead the team.
