The 1971 Atlanta Braves finished with a record of 82-80. They scored 643 runs and belted 153 home runs to go along with a .257 batting average. The offense was powered by Hank Aaron, who led the team with 47 home runs and 118 RBI. Ralph Garr led the team with 219 hits for a .343 average.

The team allowed 699 runs and had a team ERA of 3.75. Phil Niekro led the pitching staff with 15 wins and 173 strikeouts. Cecil Upshaw was the team's best fireman, with 17 saves.
