The 1965 New York Yankees finished with a record of 77-85. They scored 611 runs and belted 149 home runs to go along with a .235 batting average. The offense was powered by Tom Tresh, who led the team with 26 home runs, 74 RBI, and 168 hits.

The team allowed 604 runs and had a team ERA of 3.28. Mel Stottlemyre led the team with 20 wins. Al Downing struck out 179 batters to lead the team. Pedro Ramos was the team's best fireman, with 19 saves.
