The 1965 Chicago Cubs finished with a record of 72-90. They scored 635 runs and belted 134 home runs to go along with a .238 batting average. The offense was powered by Billy Williams, who led the team with 34 home runs, 108 RBI, and 203 hits.

The team allowed 723 runs and had a team ERA of 3.78. Dick Ellsworth and Larry Jackson were tied for the team lead in wins with 14. Larry Jackson led the team with 131 strikeouts. Ted Abernathy led the team with 31 saves.
