1965-66 Cincinnati Royals
[edit] The Offseason
Write about the off-season (the transactions, controversies, etc...). Add something now!
Recovering from a disappointing season a year ago rife with injuries, the Royals had perhaps the greatest draft class in NBA history, but still could not get them on the floor. Nate Bowman and Flynn Robinson missed time with extending injuries. Bob Love too was not played. Despite these oversights, Cincinnati had arguably it's most exciting season ever this year, with exciting contention that briefly had the team atop the NBA, it's own hosted All-Star Game complete with Royals MVPs, and then an exciting playoffs in which they had Boston one game from elimination. Stars Oscar Robertson and Jerry Lucas each again rated First Team All-NBA selections.
