The 1963 Detroit Tigers finished with a record of 79-83. They scored 700 runs and belted 148 home runs to go along with a .252 batting average. The offense was powered by Al Kaline, who led the team with 27 home runs, 101 RBI, and 172 hits.

The team allowed 703 runs and had a team ERA of 3.90. Leading the team in wins was Phil Regan, with 15. Jim Bunning led the team with 196 strikeouts. Terry Fox was the team's best fireman, with 11 saves.
