The 1959 Cincinnati Reds finished with a record of 74-80. They scored 764 runs and belted 161 home runs to go along with a .274 batting average. The offense was powered by Frank Robinson, who led the team with 36 home runs and 125 RBI. Vada Pinson led the team with 205 hits for a .316 average.

The team allowed 738 runs and had a team ERA of 4.31. Don Newcombe and Bob Purkey were tied for the team lead in wins with 13. Don Newcombe led the team with 100 strikeouts. Brooks Lawrence was the team's best fireman, with 10 saves.
