The 1956 Chicago White Sox finished with a record of 85-69. They scored 776 runs and belted 128 home runs to go along with a .267 batting average. The offense was powered by Larry Doby, who led the team with 24 home runs and 102 RBI. Nellie Fox led the team with 192 hits for a .296 average.

The team allowed 634 runs and had a team ERA of 3.73. Billy Pierce led the pitching staff with 20 wins and 192 strikeouts.
