The 1956 Baltimore Orioles finished with a record of 69-85. They scored 571 runs and belted 91 home runs to go along with a .244 batting average. The offense was powered by Gus Triandos, who led the team with 21 home runs, 88 RBI, and 126 hits.

The team allowed 705 runs and had a team ERA of 4.20. Leading the team in wins was Ray Moore, with 12. Connie Johnson struck out 130 batters to lead the team. George Zuverink was the team's best fireman, with 16 saves.
