The 1955 Detroit Tigers finished with a record of 79-75. They scored 775 runs and belted 130 home runs to go along with a .266 batting average. The offense was powered by Al Kaline, who led the team with 27 home runs and 200 hits. Ray Boone knocked in 116 runs.

The team allowed 658 runs and had a team ERA of 3.79. Billy Hoeft led the pitching staff with 16 wins and 133 strikeouts.
