The 1953 New York Yankees finished with a record of 99-52. They scored 801 runs and belted 139 home runs to go along with a .273 batting average. The offense was powered by Yogi Berra, who led the team with 27 home runs and 108 RBI. Gil McDougald led the team with 154 hits for a .285 average.

The team allowed 547 runs and had a team ERA of 3.20. Whitey Ford led the pitching staff with 18 wins and 110 strikeouts. Allie Reynolds was the team's best fireman, with 13 saves.
