The 1951 Pittsburgh Pirates finished with a record of 64-90. They scored 689 runs and belted 137 home runs to go along with a .258 batting average. The offense was powered by Ralph Kiner, who led the team with 42 home runs and 109 RBI. Gus Bell led the team with 167 hits for a .278 average.

The team allowed 845 runs and had a team ERA of 4.78. Murry Dickson was the winningest pitcher, with 20 games won. Mel Queen led the team with 123 strikeouts. Ted Wilks led the team with 12 saves.
