The 1949 New York Yankees finished with a record of 97-57. They scored 829 runs and belted 115 home runs to go along with a .269 batting average. Tommy Henrich provided the power for the team with 24 homers. Yogi Berra was the best run producer with 91 RBI. Phil Rizzuto led the team with 169 hits for a .275 average.

The team allowed 637 runs and had a team ERA of 3.70. Vic Raschi led the team with 21 wins. Tommy Byrne racked up 129 strkeouts to lead the team. Joe Page was the team's best fireman, with 27 saves.
