The 1948 St. Louis Cardinals finished with a record of 85-69. They scored 742 runs and belted 105 home runs to go along with a .263 batting average. The offense was powered by Stan Musial, who led the team with 39 home runs, 131 RBI, and 230 hits.

The team allowed 646 runs and had a team ERA of 3.91. Harry Brecheen led the pitching staff with 20 wins and 149 strikeouts. Ted Wilks led the team with 13 saves.
