The 1948 Philadelphia Athletics finished with a record of 84-70. They scored 729 runs and belted 68 home runs to go along with a .260 batting average. Eddie Joost provided the power for the team with 16 homers. The offense was powered by Hank Majeski, who led the team with 120 RBI and 183 hits.

The team allowed 735 runs and had a team ERA of 4.43. Leading the team in wins was Dick Fowler, with 15. Lou Brissie led the team with 127 strikeouts.
