The 1948 Chicago White Sox finished with a record of 51-101. They scored 558 runs and belted 55 home runs to go along with a .251 batting average. The offense was powered by Pat Seerey, who led the team with 18 home runs and 64 RBI. Luke Appling led the team with 156 hits for a .314 average.

The team allowed 814 runs and had a team ERA of 4.89. Joe Haynes and Bill Wight were tied for the team lead in wins with 9. Bill Wight led the team with 68 strikeouts.
