The 1947 St. Louis Cardinals finished with a record of 89-65. They scored 780 runs and belted 115 home runs to go along with a .270 batting average. The offense was powered by Whitey Kurowski, who led the team with 27 home runs and 104 RBI. Stan Musial led the team with 183 hits for a .312 average.

The team allowed 634 runs and had a team ERA of 3.53. Harry Brecheen and Red Munger were tied for the team lead in wins with 16. Red Munger struck out 123 batters to lead the team.
