The 1947 Detroit Tigers finished with a record of 85-69. They scored 714 runs and belted 103 home runs to go along with a .258 batting average. Roy Cullenbine provided the power for the team with 24 homers. The offense was powered by George Kell, who led the team with 93 RBI and 188 hits.

The team allowed 642 runs and had a team ERA of 3.57. Fred Hutchinson was the winningest pitcher, with 18 games won. Hal Newhouser racked up 176 strkeouts to lead the team.
