The 1944 Detroit Tigers finished with a record of 88-66. They scored 658 runs and belted 60 home runs to go along with a .263 batting average. The offense was powered by Rudy York, who led the team with 18 home runs and 98 RBI. Doc Cramer led the team with 169 hits for a .292 average.

The team allowed 581 runs and had a team ERA of 3.09. Hal Newhouser led the pitching staff with 29 wins and 187 strikeouts.
