The 1942 Washington Senators finished with a record of 62-89. They scored 653 runs and belted 40 home runs to go along with a .258 batting average. The offense was powered by Mickey Vernon, who led the team with 9 home runs and 86 RBI. Stan Spence led the team with 203 hits for a .323 average. George Case had a great year on the basepaths with 44 stolen bases.

The team allowed 817 runs and had a team ERA of 4.58. Bobo Newsom led the pitching staff with 11 wins and 113 strikeouts.
