The 1940 Philadelphia Phillies finished with a record of 50-103. They scored 494 runs and belted 75 home runs to go along with a .238 batting average. The offense was powered by Johnny Rizzo, who led the team with 20 home runs and 53 RBI. Pinky May led the team with 147 hits for a .293 average.
