The 1939 St. Louis Browns finished with a record of 43-111. They scored 733 runs and belted 91 home runs to go along with a .268 batting average. The offense was powered by George McQuinn, who led the team with 20 home runs, 94 RBI, and 195 hits.

The team allowed 1035 runs and had a team ERA of 6.01. Vern Kennedy and Jack Kramer were tied for the team lead in wins with 9. Lefty Mills led the team with 103 strikeouts.
