The 1939 New York Yankees finished with a record of 106-45. They scored 967 runs and belted 166 home runs to go along with a .287 batting average. The offense was powered by Joe DiMaggio, who led the team with 30 home runs and 126 RBI. Red Rolfe led the team with 213 hits for a .329 average.

The team allowed 556 runs and had a team ERA of 3.31. Red Ruffing was the winningest pitcher, with 21 games won. Lefty Gomez racked up 102 strkeouts to lead the team. Johnny Murphy was the team's best fireman, with 19 saves.
