The 1938 St. Louis Cardinals finished with a record of 71-80. They scored 725 runs and belted 91 home runs to go along with a .279 batting average. Johnny Mize led the team in home runs with 27. The offense was powered by Joe Medwick, who led the team with 122 RBI and 190 hits.

The team allowed 721 runs and had a team ERA of 3.84. Bob Weiland led the pitching staff with 16 wins and 117 strikeouts.
