The 1929 St. Louis Cardinals finished with a record of 78-74. They scored 831 runs and belted 100 home runs to go along with a .293 batting average. Jim Bottomley and Chick Hafey were tied for the team lead in home runs with 29. Jim Bottomley was the best run producer with 137 RBI. Taylor Douthit led the team with 206 hits for a .336 average.

The team allowed 807 runs and had a team ERA of 4.66. Jesse Haines and Syl Johnson were tied for the team lead in wins with 13. Syl Johnson struck out 80 batters to lead the team.
