The 1928 Philadelphia Athletics finished with a record of 98-55. They scored 828 runs and belted 89 home runs to go along with a .294 batting average. Joe Hauser led the team in home runs with 16. Al Simmons was the best run producer with 107 RBI. Bing Miller led the team with 168 hits for a .329 average.

The team allowed 615 runs and had a team ERA of 3.36. Lefty Grove led the pitching staff with 24 wins and 183 strikeouts.
