The 1916 Pittsburgh Pirates finished with a record of 65-89. They scored 484 runs and belted 20 home runs to go along with a .240 batting average. Max Carey led the team in home runs with 7. The offense was powered by Bill Hinchman, who led the team with 76 RBI and 175 hits. Max Carey had a great year on the basepaths with 63 stolen bases.

The team allowed 586 runs and had a team ERA of 2.76. Al Mamaux led the pitching staff with 21 wins and 163 strikeouts.
