The 1898 Washington Senators finished with a record of 51-101. They scored 704 runs and belted 36 home runs to go along with a .271 batting average. The offense was powered by John Anderson, who led the team with 9 home runs and 71 RBI. Jake Gettman led the team with 157 hits for a .277 average. Jake Gettman had a great year on the basepaths with 32 stolen bases.

The team allowed 939 runs and had a team ERA of 4.52. Gus Weyhing led the pitching staff with 15 wins and 92 strikeouts.
