The 1896 Washington Senators finished with a record of 58-73. They scored 818 runs and belted 45 home runs to go along with a .286 batting average. Gene DeMontreville and Bill Joyce were tied for the team lead in home runs with 8. Kip Selbach was the best run producer with 100 RBI. Gene DeMontreville led the team with 183 hits for a .343 average. Kip Selbach had a great year on the basepaths with 49 stolen bases.

The team allowed 920 runs and had a team ERA of 4.61. Win Mercer led the team with 25 wins. Doc McJames struck out 103 batters to lead the team.
