The 1896 Cincinnati Reds finished with a record of 77-50. They scored 783 runs and belted 20 home runs to go along with a .294 batting average. Dummy Hoy and Dusty Miller were tied for the team lead in home runs with 4. Dusty Miller was the best run producer with 93 RBI. Eddie Burke led the team with 177 hits for a .340 average. Dusty Miller had a great year on the basepaths with 76 stolen bases.

The team allowed 620 runs and had a team ERA of 3.67. Frank Dwyer led the team with 24 wins. Red Ehret struck out 60 batters to lead the team.
