1875 Boston Red Stockings

In their last year as the Red Stockings and in the National Association, the future Atlanta Braves franchise defended their National Association Champion title (which they had won in 1872, 1873, and in 1874), and again won that title in 1875. They went 71-8, under the Hall of Fame managment of Harry Wright.

Al Spalding (24) started 63 of the 82 games played (Jack Manning started 17 games, and Cal McVey started the other 2 games). Spalding completed 52 of those 63 games started, ending up with a record of 55-8 in 575.0 IP, with an ERA of 1.52 and recorded 5 saves.

Al Spalding (1939), Jim O'Rourke (1945), George Wright (1937), and Harry Wright (1953) are all in the National Baseball Hall of Fame.
