ArmchairGM users, with the College Basketball season starting-up, let's try and put together 101 reasons to watch College Basketball this season. Just hit "edit page" and add to this list. Let's make this a combination of humor with serious reasons. Try to keep each reason as a one-liner. Feel free to renumber the list in any way you wish. And if you add a reason, feel free to add your name as being a co-author of this opinion (if you dont know how, leave a comment below and ill add it for you). And please, feel free to add your own reasons, but don't alter reasons posted by others. Anyway, let's get moving:
101 Reasons to Watch College Basketball this Season
- To watch the Joakim Noah and the Florida Gators repeat.
- To see who the next George Mason will be.
- Georgia Tech's "Fab Three" Diaper Dandies, baby!
- To watch the players that are only in college because of the NBA rule, and will probably only be in college until next April (i.e. - Texas's Kevin Durant and Ohio State's Greg Oden).
- To watch the Providence College Friars defeat the Florida Gators on Dec 6th.
- To feel better about yourself, realizing few things in life are as pathetic as Digger Phelps matching his tie and his highlighter.
- To see if the Scarlet Knights magical football season rubs off on the basketball team at all.
- To laugh when it doesn't.
- Because there is no BCS in college basketball.
- To prove that "Salukis" isn't a dirty word. Or French.
- To see what else Indiana University will steal from the University of Illinois.
- Because he's Dominic James bitch!!
- To see if Bradley University can return to the dance after a magical Sweet 16 run.
- To watch the Kansas Jayhawks finish the season in the top 10 and lose in the first round of the tournament.
- To watch the greatest freshman class in the last 25 years.
- To listen to Jim Nantz and Billy Packer try to announce games with feet in their mouths.
- To study all the teams and players all season long, so come NCAA Tournament time, you can finish dead last in your office pool.
- Thad Matta
- Because the Jimmy Valvano speech is one of the greatest of all time.
